Dead is a man, who threatened with a knife two police officers at the Gare du Nord train station in Paris. Police responded by opening fire, according to a police source.
The incident took place around 7 am local time and in a video posted on Twitter, police officers are seen with their guns outstretched before shots were heard.
“This morning around 7 p.m. A police patrol was threatened by a man armed with a knife on public transport in the Ile-de-France region. “The police used their weapon, thus removing any danger, both for themselves and for the travelers,” wrote French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanen.
