Parliament: Fines on parties and party coalitions due to violation of the financing law

Published in the parliamentary transparency, the decision of the President of the Parliament on the imposition of fines on the parties that violated the provisions of Law 3023/2002, on financing.

The decision was issued after the final report of the results of the control of parties and coalitions of parties for the year 2020, as submitted to the Speaker of the Parliament on 29.07.2022.

The decision concerns political parties:

CREATION AGAIN for failure to submit annual financial statements (article 16A par. 1a, in conjunction with article 24 par. 10.)- Fine 8,000.00 Euro.

COMMUNIST PARTY OF GREECE (C.K.E) for income from subscriptions and contributions amounting to 3,274,780.00 Euro without meeting the conditions of private financing. b. Failure to publish data on the Party’s income from donations – legacies, totaling 785,554.66 Euros. (article 7 par. 1 and 3, in combination with article 21 par. 2 idst, and article 24 par. 4) – a fine of 1% of the regular funding paid in 2020, i.e. an amount of 15,063.48 Euros.

GOLDEN DAWN PEOPLE’S ASSOCIATION for income of 1,160.00 Euros without meeting the conditions of private financing, for handling (above the prescribed limit) expenses of 19,548.61 Euros outside of bank accounts, for not posting financial statements of the party on its website. (article 7 par. 1 and 3, article 5 par. 1, article 16 par. 5 in combination with article 24 par. 2 and 4)- Fine 20,833.33 Euro.

NEA ELLINIKI ORMI (N.E.O) for financing from an unauthorized entity. (article 7 par. 6 in conjunction with article 24 par. 4)- Fine of 400.00 Euro.
