Parliament: In plenary the n / s of the Ministry of Development for the shielding and strengthening of the Competition Committee

The discussion and voting of the draft law of the Ministry of Development and Investments on “Modernization of competition law for the digital age – Amendment of law 3959/2011 and incorporation of Directive (EU) 2019/1 of the European Parliament and the Of 11 December 2018 on empowering the competition authorities of the Member States to enforce the rules more effectively and to ensure the proper functioning of the internal market “.

The bill, during its discussion and elaboration in the Production and Trade Committee of the Parliament, was voted positively by ND. SYRIZA, KINAL and Hellenic Solution were reserved to be placed in the Plenary Session, while the KKE and MERA25 voted against it.

Ministerial Amendments

To date, 5 ministerial amendments have been tabled to the draft law. Particularly:

– Amendment of the Ministry of Interior which, among other regulations, has provisions regarding the granting of special purpose permits and other facilities to employees of the narrow and wider public sector whose children are infected with coronavirus. The overtime employment of KEP employees for the provision of services related to covid-19. Special arrangements for employees in suspended public sector bodies for reasons of public health. Transfers of permanent administrators to courts, prosecutors’ offices and general commissions of the country.

– Amendment of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs which provides facilities for parents when their children are infected with coronavirus. The introduction of a special sick leave for employees of the private sector, due to Covid disease, in a context that is in line with the new health protocols of EODY and is valid until April 15, 2022. Addition to the provisions for the minimum wage for employees and craftsmen whose remuneration not defined by a collective labor agreement. Provision on the administrative fine for the vaccinated those born up to 31/12/1961.

– Amendment of the Ministry of Development and Investment which, among other things, provides the possibility of publishing the name of companies that violate the measures to reduce the pandemic. Arrangements for the support of companies based in North Evia. Strengthening of the Auxiliary Insurance Liability Fund from car accidents and expansion of the scope of application of the Energy Transition Fund.

– Amendment of the Ministry of Climate Change and Civil Protection extending it for 4 months and if there is still an immediate risk of spreading covid-19, to the General Secretariat for Civil Protection the possibility to assign and conclude contracts by way of derogation from the existing test provisions of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The Greek State also recognizes all types of debts of the Fire Brigade to the international organization under the name Nato Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) totaling 8,457,481.64 euros, relating to administrative costs, technical services, flight logistics support – maintenance of the Fire Brigade airspace and air firefighting services with rental of forest firefighting helicopters, provided by the Organization during the years 2011 to 2016.

– Amendment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the possibility of secondment to the Permanent Representation of Greece to the EU of permanent employees or IDAX serving in bodies of the General Government or the BoG. The establishment and structure of an Independent Office for the Management of a Sectoral Development Program.

Parliamentary amendments

The main opposition party has also tabled its own amendment on granting special purpose leave to working parents in the private and public sectors.
