Parliament: The debate and voting of the 2022 Budget begins in the afternoon in the Plenary

In the presence of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the five-day debate on the State Budget for the fiscal year 2022 begins today at 6:00 pm. a vote of confidence in the government.

The discussion will begin with the positions of the general rapporteurs and special speakers of the parties and will end with the speeches of the prime minister and the political leaders.

Based on the organization of the debate, as decided at the Conference of Presidents, the positions of the general rapporteurs and special speakers of the parties will be completed today. At the beginning of the sitting, the list of registration of the deputies who will be placed in the next few days in the Plenary will be “opened”.

On the morning of the second day of the debate on the Budget, Wednesday, 15 December, the plenary session will begin with a six-member panel, one from each parliamentary group. Immediately after – and until the end of the debate on the Budget – it will be held in 12-member circles of speakers-deputies in proportion to the parliamentary power of the parties. The ministers and deputy ministers of the government will speak at the debate throughout the debate.

The general speakers are Theodoros Roussopoulos from ND, Efi Ahtsioglou from SYRIZA, Costas Skandalidis from KINAL, Nikos Karathanassopoulos from KKE, Vassilios Viliardos from Elliniki Lysi and Kriton A from MERA25.

Special rapporteurs have been appointed: Theodoros Karaoglou, Manos Konsolas, Dionysis Stamenitis and Iason Fotilas from ND. From SYRIZA are Andreas Xanthos, Alexandros Haritsis and Socrates Famellos. From KINAL are George Arvanitidis and George Moulkiotis. Diamanto Manolakou from the KKE, Konstantinos Hitas from the Hellenic Solution and George Logiadis from the MERA25.
