In a debate held by CNN This Friday (13), Senator Plínio Valério (PSDB-AM) and Federal Deputy Fausto Pinato (PP-SP) discussed the clash between the Executive and Judiciary powers over the decree issued by the federal government that reduces the IPI on Industrialized Products).
“We went to the Judiciary to guarantee these constitutional rights to preserve the model that employs 103,000 people today”, defended Senator Valério.
In response to an action by Rede Sustentabilidade, Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), suspended parts of the decree that included the Manaus Free Trade Zone (ZFM) – an industrial hub in the country.
“The Free Zone is simply being guaranteed its right to competitiveness”, defended the senator.
In the opinion of federal deputy Fausto Pinato, “although we have to defend the Free Zone, the state of Manaus, we also cannot, in a way, help some segments of a company and closing other companies in another state.
