The telephone company TEF.MC reported that it restored all services in Spain in the early afternoon of Tuesday (20), after the interruption of some fixed telephone services and internet for a few hours in parts of the country due to a network update.
Interruption occurred three weeks after Spain suffered a catastrophic blackout on April 28, whose causes have not yet been determined.
Emergency line 112 was also interrupted in some areas of the country, the telephone said.
“All the service has been restored except for one or two cases where teams are working,” said Telefónica’s director of operations, Sergio Sanchez, in a video published online.
The telephone is the second largest operator in Spain, after Masorange, and the services of other major operators were not affected.
The telephone mobile network also seemed to work normally throughout the morning.
According to the Downdetector Monitoring website, the interruptions were mainly related to fixed internet services.
Users reported connection problems in the regions of Aragon, Valencia, Andalusia, Extremadura, Basque Country and Navarre, as well as in parts of Madrid.
