It starts this Wednesday (20th) and runs until August 5th, the period foreseen in the electoral calendar for political parties to hold conventions that will confirm candidates for the October elections. After this period, the subtitles will be able to register their candidacies and, as of August 16, the electoral campaign officially begins. On radio and TV, advertising begins ten days later, on August 26.
In addition to formalizing the candidates of each party for state deputy, federal deputy, senator, governor and president of the Republic, the conventions reflect the different strategies of political parties for the elections that will define the course of the country for the next four years.
In this episode of E Tem Mais, Carol Nogueira presents an overview of expectations for the beginning of the period of party conventions. To point out what is already known and the uncertainties that still surround the electoral race in Brazil, the podcast brings together a panel of political analysts from CNN Brazil with the participation of Gustavo Uribe, Renata Agostini, Caio Junqueira, Leandro Resende and Iuri Pitta.
