PASOK: The proposal for an inquiry committee and the Predator

Today, PASOK is preparing to submit its proposal for the establishment of a Commission of Inquiry requested by Nikos Androulakis, from the first moment that his monitoring by the EYP was revealed.

At the Presidents’ conference, he will request the convening of the Institutions and Transparency committee immediately so that those who hid the truth tell the truth, as Harilaou Trikoupi notes, naming Messrs. Kontoleontas, Gerapetritis, Pierrakakis.

PASOK’s position on the Government’s proposal to expand the Commission of Inquiry over a decade is yes, only if and as long as “the ND has evidence that the SYRIZA-ANEL government carried out illegal surveillance, to submit it to the Institutions Committee”.

Indeed, Harilaou Trikoupis point out that “If the ND has evidence that during the Samaras government, when the EYP was still under the control of the Minister of Public Order, portfolios held by Mr. Dendias and Mr. Kikilias, there is something reprehensible, they should submit them to the Institutions Committee. Only on the basis of existing evidence will we study any time extension”.

With regard to the use of Predator in Greece, Harilaou Trikoupis executives state that in the request for the commission of inquiry they will ask – to extend the investigation to the use of the illegal Predator software a) through “subcontractors” for short or longer periods or b) from private centers with the knowledge/tolerance of the State. It is also crucial to investigate the actions of those active in the country in this field and how they are controlled by the EYP and EL.AS.
