A passenger died after falling down stairs while disembarking from a plane, last Sunday (19), in São José do Rio Preto, in the interior of São Paulo. The case happened during the disembarkation of flight LA3082, which departed from Congonhas Airport.
According to information from the Police, Marco Antonio D’Amico, 67 years old, was rescued by airport employees, but he did not resist and his death was confirmed by SAMU.
The incident occurred when the aircraft arrived at São José do Rio Preto Airport, where the team from the Fire Protection Section of the ASP concessionaire provided immediate assistance. Despite resuscitation efforts, the man was already no vital signs .
The victim was a tax auditor and union representative of the Tax Auditors Union of São Paulo (Sinafresp) and had recently been re-elected for another term.
In a post on social media, Sinafresp lamented the representative’s death and highlighted his dedication to the fight to enhance his tax career.
In a statement, LATAM informed that it provided the necessary assistance on site, in addition to offering support to passengers affected by the situation. “The subsequent flight, LA3087, which was due to take off at 7:05 pm, was postponed to 9:36 pm due to the incident.”
THE CNN the concessionaire Aeroportos Paulistas (ASP), responsible for managing the airport, also expressed its condolences and reinforced its efforts to provide all emergency assistance at the time of the crash.
The occurrence was registered as a suspicious/accidental death at the city’s Sectional Police Station, which requested forensic examination.
Marco Antonio D’Amico’s wake took place this Monday (20), in São José do Rio Preto.
