Passenger dies after sudden illness during Maiara and Maraisa cruise

A 41-year-old man died after a sudden illness on the “Maiara & Maraisa on the high seas” themed ship, near Ilha do Maia, in Angra dos Reis (RJ), last Saturday (30). The passenger was traveling with his wife and daughter.

The case took place on the premises of the MSC Seaview vessel. In a statement, MSC stated that it regrets the guest’s death and said that the “medical team responded immediately” providing “all necessary support to the family traveling with the guest.”

The Navy was also called in the incident and reported that through the Command of the 1st Naval District, “the Port Authority Police Station in Angra dos Reis (DelAReis) received an official communication about the death of a passenger on board the vessel”.

Access Mídia, responsible for the event, told CNN which works “in full collaboration with the competent authorities to ensure that all procedures are carried out appropriately and respectfully”.
