Passenger who refused to give up seat on plane sues airline

Banker Jennifer Castro, the passenger who became famous after refusing to give up her seat on a flight between Rio de Janeiro and Belo Horizonte (MG) last December, decided to take the case to court. She is suing the lawyer Eluciana Cardoso, who filmed the situation, and Gol, the company responsible for the flight.

The information was revealed by Jennifer in an interview with a podcast. She confirmed that she had taken legal action against both of them, alleging that she did not receive any type of assistance from Gol employees, who, according to her, had shown support for the other passenger and the child.

On the podcast, Jennifer questioned the airline’s stance: “They could have asked me: ‘Look, are you in need of anything, is there anything I can help you with?’”

According to Jennifer’s press office, the case against Gol is based on “the lack of assistance to the passenger during the embarrassment”.

“The girl who filmed exposed Jennifer to excessive embarrassment, recording aggressively, which left her extremely uncomfortable and vulnerable,” stated the bank’s advisor.

THE CNN tries to contact the lawyer who filmed the case, but has not received any response. The space remains open for demonstrations. Gol informed that it will not comment on the case.
