The Boeing 737-800 aircraft was isolated from other planes when it landed back at Panama City’s international airport following the suspected bomb scare, Panama’s aviation agency said.
Passengers reboarded the aircraft to resume their journey to Tampa, Copa Airlines said in a later statement, adding that authorities had ruled out any type of threat.
Panama City’s international airport, where 17 commercial airlines operate, did not respond to requests for comment.
