A woman entered the TikTok to express her grievances about the fact that no one offered her young son a seat on a crowded train – and now she’s “hearing” them for it. In the video, which has more than 2.1 million projectorss, user @kellyk2016 showed her son, sitting on the floor of one train of London as there were no other places available, broadcast the New York Post.
“All these people just watching my son sit on the floor,” she captioned it. “Indifferent”.
The train Kelly was traveling on was the Southern Rail Train. In order to travel, one must of course buy a ticket. However, children under the age of 5 travel for free. “Lesson of life: book tickets in advance with seats… why do you think your son is prioritized? Because you say so?” someone commented. “Kids sit on the floor, adults have chairs,” wrote another. “That’s called respect,” added another. One even joked: “She’s going to have PTSD when she grows up. Such a traumatic event.”
For her part, Kelly clarified that she would have give her place to sit it child her but she didn’t have either.
However, some TikTokers supported Kelly and her son, agreeing with her that it was unacceptable not to give way to a small child. “Bad behavior from passengers and commentators too,” wrote one. “I’d give up my seat for a kid in a second.” Another added. “these positions are for the elders. But half of them are not elders. I’d give up my seat for a mom with one kid, but that’s how I grew up,” added another.
