Panic gripped a plane flying through a tropical storm, with passengers screaming and praying, believing the craft would end up crashing to the ground. “Oh my God, we’re not going to survive…Put your hand in!” shouted one of the passengers on Avianca Airlines Flight 8586, which was heading from Medellin to Barranquilla, Colombia. According to a New York Post report, the plane took off without any problems, but during the flight a tropical storm hit the northern part of the country with winds of 45 mph. “It hit us when we started to descend, to land in Barranquilla,” said one passenger, adding that “up until that point the captain maintained that everything was going normally.
