In the suggestive setting of Campari Boat – In Cinema – aa spectacular floating platform located in the heart of the Venetian lagoon – the brand, Main Sponsor of the Exhibition for the fourth consecutive year, has, in fact, promoted a pioneering project unique of its kind: it is Campari Red Diaries 2021: Fellini Forward, inspired by the last periods of Federico Fellini and capable, with the help of artificial intelligence technologies e machine learning, to explore the creative genius of the Maestro by creating a short movie of inestimable value, directed by the great Maximilian Niemann. The short movie tells, with curiosity and a wealth of details, how the relationship between Fellini and the world of cinema, from the first spark to the realization of his most famous works.
IThe result is the fruit of the exploratory work of some AI tools which, under the guidance of UNIT9, analyzed Fellini’s old transcripts trying to extrapolate the recurring motifs in terms of language and descriptive detail. The project was well illustrated in a documentary, Fellini Forward, directed by the award-winning duo ZCDC, consisting of Zackary Canepari and Drea Cooper, which traces the whole process of making the short, exploring the future of cinema and the creative collaboration between human and artificial intelligence. The documentary will premiere for North America in the Partner Presentation category at New York Film Festival the September 29, 2021, and will be available in Italy for a month starting October 1 on Amazon Prime Video. The initiative also expresses support for the world of cinema even more strongly #PerIlCinema that Campari launched in 2020 with the collaboration of QMI to support one of the most affected sectors in the last year and a half.
