Pastor Adnailda Souza Santos, 42, died for alleged lack of care at the Emergency Care Unit (UPA), in the Pau Miúdo neighborhood of Salvador, Bahia, last Tuesday (11).
In images that circulate on the internet, the pastor is seen in a wheelchair, complains of shortness of breath and asks for oxygen. The husband, who accompanied her, filmed the situation and shouted for care.
The Municipal Health Department (SMS) stated in a statement that it had access to the unit’s security cameras and analyzed the chronology of care. According to the folder, the patient was treated and rescued immediately. The total time of the patient’s arrival in the unit until the death was 1 hour and 8 minutes.
The chronology released by SMS shows that the patient arrived at UPA at 5:23 pm and went straight to the reception of risk classification. At 5:25 pm she was already in the host room in a wheelchair.
The husband started filming and screaming asking for care at 5:30 pm. The doctor was on a telephone call. The patient entered the office at 17:32. The police were fired and accompanied the family and the service.
From 17h33 the patient is in care with the doctor and nurses in the stabilization room. Four oxygen cylinders, advanced life support materials, and several stabilization maneuvers were used.
At 6:31 pm, the death is found after 46 minutes of attempts to resurrect. The total service time was 1 hour and 08 minutes.
