Pastor Leonardo Sale was involved in a collision on Wednesday afternoon (27), in Jardim Oceânico, in Barra da Tijuca. In videos circulating on social media, several people recorded the religious leader’s attitude in leaving his car on top of a motorcyclist who, allegedly, had tried to rob him.
On his social media profile, pastor Leonardo Sale explained what happened. The religious leader stated that he was the victim of an attempted armed robbery, and that after being threatened with a firearm, he ended up accelerating the car on the passenger side, running over the criminals.
Leonardo revealed that he did the action out of instinct and also because he knew that the vehicle was armored. “My heart is sad, even though justice is being served. I feel sad because I see so many young people being lost to drug trafficking, to crime”, said the pastor, who seemed relieved to know that the criminal was rescued alive.

The other criminal managed to escape, the one who was trapped under the car was removed by the Fire Department and taken to the Miguel Couto Hospital, in Gávea. As of this writing, his health status had not yet been disclosed. The incident was registered at the 16th DP (Barra da Tijuca), which is conducting the investigation to understand what happened.
