A pastor from Mozambique who was the founder of the Evangelical Church of Santa Trindade, died as he applied the 40-day fasting of Jesus
In accordance with bbc.comit’s about him 39-year-old Francisco Barajahwho after 25 days of grueling fasting without food or water, became so emaciated that he could not stand.
However, he continued to fast and reportedly collapsed on the 38th day, where he was taken to a hospital in the town of Beira, near the Zimbabwean border.
There he was diagnosed with multiple organ failure, while he had acute anemia and failure of his digestive organs.
In fact, the British publication reported that Barajah’s death is not the only death caused by trying to imitate the biblical fasting of Jesus Christ. A woman died trying to go 40 days without food and water, while in 2015 a Zimbabwean man died after fasting for 30 days.
