A 40-year-old pastor was preventively arrested last Saturday (6) on suspicion of raping a 41-year-old missionary in the Federal District. Júlio César Aparecido Pereira dos Santos had already been convicted of raping a 9-year-old child.
According to investigations, the man took advantage of his influence as a religious leader to invite the victim to prayers at Monte de Samambaia, near Brasília, but diverted the route to his home and raped the woman.
According to the Civil Police of the Federal District, the crime occurred on February 20 of this year – the same month in which he was convicted in the case involving the rape of the 9-year-old child. He was sentenced to 16 years and 3 months in prison.
After being convicted, Pastor César, as he was known, began providing wrong addresses to avoid being summoned and thus not serving his sentence.
The police also report that, after the believer filed a complaint against the pastor, the religious leader sent the victim an audio message trying to convince her to withdraw the complaint. Even so, the 38th DP carried out the investigation and gathered evidence against him.
“The pastor has experience committing crimes such as domestic violence, drug trafficking, homicide and theft”, highlights the chief deputy of the 38th DP, Pablo Aguiar.
The Civil Police made a photo of the suspect available at the police station so that other people who were victims of him could recognize him and report it.
