One patient died on Friday (16), after undergo general anesthesia to perform a tattoo in Itapema, municipality of Santa Catarina. The anesthetist physician was indicted for manslaughter when there is no intention to kill after the incident.
The Santa Catarina Civil Police (PMSC), through the Itapema Police Station, was responsible for completing the police inquiry into the case.
According to the police, the professional would have acted negligently by not requesting specific tests that could indicate risks to the application of general anesthesia in man.
According to an investigation, the execution of the exams would have provided sufficient information to prevent the procedure adopted ahead, avoiding the victim’s death.
The inquiry will be sent to the Public Prosecution Service, which will decide if it offers a complaint to the court.
