Patients vandalize UPA and injure guard after delay in receiving care in DF

This Monday (23), two patients who were at the Emergency Care Unit (UPA) in Recanto das Emas, in the Federal District, committed acts of violence and vandalism there. The suspects were an adult, who was detained, and a teenager, who was apprehended.

The Military Police were called following a report of possible public disorder. Upon arrival, the agents found a guard injured in the eyebrow and several evidence of vandalism in the health unit.

According to witness reports, the confusion began when a man threw a stone at the guard. At the same moment, a teenager, with no connection to the first suspect, began attacking health professionals with pieces of wood.

People who were at the scene filmed the confusion and the videos went viral on social media.

In the images, you can hear a man screaming and people who were at the scene run or hide while others try to alleviate the situation. A woman cries in despair during the commotion.

The man who started the confusion was taken to the 27th DP and the teenager to the Children and Adolescents Police Station II (DCA II).
