Patrícia Travassos: Metaverse on the internet is inspired by the multiverse of games

The use of the term metaverse is increasingly popular, but when will this “parallel universe” actually become part of our daily lives?

CNN Expert in Technology and Innovation, Patricia Travassosspoke this Wednesday (16) of this concept under construction on the internet and what to expect from it in the coming years.

“Well, in a way [o metaverso] is already present at the time of entertainment when we create avatars and dive into games. And the inspiration for the metaverse comes exactly from the multiverse of games [na internet]”, he stated.

“In each game you enter a different world, with its own rules. So this is what will need to be built for the metaverse [na internet] establish itself as a virtual space, parallel to the real world”, added the specialist.

For Travassos, these laws will establish the rules of coexistence in this virtual world, in order to preserve the safety of those who circulate there.

“Whether it’s shopping, working, studying, meeting friends, going for a walk, going to a museum or seeing a show – all virtually, in three-dimensional spaces.”

She also highlighted the expectation by some analysts that by 2030 people will spend more time in the metaverse than in the real world. “But until then, there is ground.”
