Patrick Dempsey in Venice with his wife Jillian Fink: the story of a couple who first broke up and then got back together

Patrick Dempsey at the Venice Film Festival 2023 to present Ferrari by Michael Mann, as an exception to the Hollywood actors’ strike, he arrived accompanied by his wife, the make-up artist Jillian Fink. They arrived together at the pier of the Excelsior hotel and he, surrounded by photographers, waited for her to give her his arm. So then they arrived, side by side, on the red carpet. Theirs is a beautiful love story, a love that returns when it seemed to be over. The two in January 2015, after 15 years together and three children, had announced the separation. One of those bare-bones communiqués that Hollywood likes so much: “Irreconcilable Differences” and similar definitions to say that yes, unfortunately it’s over.

However, the former Dr. Strangelove and the make-up artist changed their minds. Breaking up must no longer have seemed like the only solution. “Do we try again?”, they will have said. It seems that to reconcile with Jillian, the actor invited her «for one last trip to Paris». And, apparently, it worked. The divorce petition has been filed. Confirmation came a short time later from the person concerned: “Yes, we reconciled”, said the star of Grey’s Anatomy. As? “We worked on every aspect of our relationship.” And again: «Fighting to get my “girlfriend” back was what my heart told me to do», the star, who has always been very reserved, let slip some time ago.

In Paris today the two return as soon as possible, saying they have a special bond with the city they call “magic”. Venice, when it comes to romance, is no different.
