This Tuesday (13), the City of São Paulo released more details about the “Show da Virada” that will take place on Avenida Paulista on the night of December 31 to celebrate the arrival of the New Year. Again, the fireworks will have no sound, as required by municipal legislation.
With the theme “O Momento do Reencontro”, due to the two years in which the city was without the party, due to the restrictions of the pandemic.
The program for this edition includes concerts by Fafá de Belém, Xamã, Leonardo, Tierry and a performance by the Mancha Verde samba school. The structure will be assembled at the end of Avenida Paulista, between Rua Haddock Lobo and Rua Bela Cintra.
Around 2 million people are expected to attend the event, which should generate more than R$ 450 million in the city of São Paulo.
On the 21st, the installation and assembly of the stage will begin, which will be 16 meters wide.
The event is free and the show starts at 5pm. The last performance, by Mancha Verde, is scheduled to start at 00:45 on the 1st.
According to the City Hall, the fireworks will take place on top of a building, on the corner of Consolação x Paulista, towards the center, and will last 12 minutes.
