Telegram will begin to reward content creators and allow the purchase of goods with cryptocurrency. This was stated by the founder of the messenger Pavel Durov during conferences Token2049 in Dubai.
According to him, starting next week the company will make it possible to send tips in cryptocurrency based on TON. Content authors will receive up to 70% of the income.
In addition, the messenger will have the opportunity to buy digital goods with cryptocurrency. Sellers will receive 70% of the income.
Users will also have the opportunity to earn 95% of royalties on usernames and anonymous NFTs on the TON blockchain. The latter can be emojis and stickers.
Durov also recalled the already implemented distribution of rewards for displaying advertising in Telegram channels.
He noted that the messenger integrated blockchain at a deep level.
After Durov’s speech, the TON rate fell sharply – from levels around $7.2 to $6.5.
