The founder of Telegram Pavel Durov condemned the European authorities, promoting the law on the so -called backdor of through encryption, which opens access to law enforcement agencies to the confidential data of users.
According to him, it is technically impossible to guarantee that only the police can get access to Bacdor.
In addition, he is convinced that the weakening of the main messengers will not help in the fight against crime, but only provoke the transition of criminals to smaller applications.
On the example of France, the founder of Telegram said that the National Assembly rejected the appropriate amendment of the Senate, but the other day the Paris Police Prefect again spoke for it. A similar initiative was proposed by the European Commission.
He emphasized that over the 12 years of existence, the messenger “never revealed a single byte of personal messages.”
Durov added that he intends to protect users’ freedom from attacks from states.
Recall, along with France, the Sweden authorities are considering a similar initiative. In February, Signal General Meredith Waitacher sharply criticized her and announced his intention to close a business in the country in case of the law entered into force.
