Payment system PayPal announced that it will provide its customers with the ability to transfer BTC, ETH, BCH and LTC to external addresses, including exchanges and hardware wallets.
According to statement PayPal, the feature will be available to US users within two weeks. Jose Fernandez da Ponte, senior vice president of blockchain and cryptocurrencies at PayPal, stressed that in the future a significant part of the trade will switch to digital currencies, so the company plans to continue to pursue the adoption of cryptocurrencies. Note that PayPal added support for BTC, ETH, BCH and LTC at the end of 2020.
Fernandez da Ponte also noted that the company is positive about the interest shown by various countries in stablecoins and digital currencies of central banks, as this favors the company’s business model. It is not yet clear how much profit cryptocurrencies bring to companies, however, according to the vice president of PayPal, this is not important for the company – they are guided by the long term.
Earlier, the company’s management announced the creation of an advisory board, which included industry experts in finance, blockchain and digital currencies.
