PC monitor shipments continue to grow strongly, according to IDC

The surge in PC monitor shipments related to the COVID-19 pandemic and isolation measures continues. This is the conclusion reached by specialists from the analytical company IDC, calculating that in the second quarter of 2021, more than 35 million monitors were shipped, which is 11.2% more than in the second quarter of 2020. The consumer segment was the driver of demand in the second quarter.

Analysts point out that supply growth has been limited by issues that have affected much of the electronics industry as a whole. We are talking about a lack of components, especially microcircuits. In addition, rising transport costs and logistics problems have resulted in additional delays in some markets. These factors led to some price increases as buyers sought to meet urgent demand and hedge against anticipated future deficits.
