So the year 2022 has come. However, streaming platforms, unlike humans, are not going to rest. Already from the beginning of January, they will delight viewers with the second seasons of such cool TV series as Euphoria and Slander from Space, the fourth (and final) season of the Ozark, as well as many interesting new products, including several interesting domestic projects, a series in the cinematic universe DC, spin-off “How I Met Your Mother,” an Apple TV + project with Dave Franco and others, which we’ll talk about later in the article.
“Bud”

The young Russian online cinema KION is rapidly expanding its base of original projects. Already on January 1, the series “Kidney” started there with one of the main stars of modern national television, Lyubov Aksenova (“Major Thunder”, “Nastya, pull yourself together!”). She plays Natasha Kustova, a young attractive and successful … bastard. She is a fire inspector. And just the absence of moral barriers helps her to find violations even where they do not exist. With the money earned from the endless overfulfillment of the plan, Natasha bought an apartment, she can afford to go to parties every day and support her lover. But only when fate throws her a serious test – the girl’s kidneys fail. Naturally, none of the relatives is in a hurry to help Natasha. Now the girl will have to go through a reassessment of values (or at least pretend that she is repentant).
Good Sam

The Good Sam is a multi-part medical drama starring Samantha Griffith, played by Sophia Bush, best known for her role as Erin Lindsey in the early seasons of Chicago PF. In the story, Samantha is a gifted heart surgeon who is always in the shadow of her father Rob Griffith (Jason Isaacs). For a long time he was the head of the department of surgery and, let’s say, prevented the daughter’s potential from being fully revealed. However, one day Rob fell into a coma, and Samantha was appointed the hospital’s leading surgeon. And everything went well until my father recovered and set himself a goal – not only to return to surgical practice, but also to get his former position back.
Peacemaker

On August 21st, James Gunn made a splash by releasing one of the best films to date in the DC MCU, Suicide Squad: Mission Bash. Warner Bros. Studio began to take into account my mistakes and not interfere with the directors to realize their ideas. As a result, the new “Suicide Squad” really became a breath of fresh air in the DC Universe, and the studio immediately agreed to continue cooperation with Gunn, who planned to shoot a spin-off about one of the heroes of the film. This hero was the Peacemaker performed by John Cena. He loves world peace so much that he is ready to kill both women and children in order to achieve this goal. According to rumors, the series will tell not only about the events after the film, but also about the formation of the Peacemaker in this image. One of the main roles in the series was also played by Robert Patrick. Gunn wrote the script for all eight episodes, and also directed five of them.
How I Met Your Father

How I Met Your Mother is often ranked alongside legends like Friends and The Big Bang Theory. For nine years, the audience was thrown small grains and clues about who really is the mother of the children of the protagonist. However, the ending of the series caused a very violent and often negative reaction. For a long time, the creators wanted to shoot a sequel to the series, where the story would be told from the point of view of the mother. But the studios, apparently, were afraid to take the project under their wing in such an ambiguous state. Eventually, streaming service Hulu launched a spin-off series called How I Met Your Dad in 2021. However, given that all the characters are new, it is not very clear how this is related to the previous project. The main character, Sophie, was played by Hilary Duff, and her version from the future was played by Kim Cattrall (Samantha from Sex and the City), who for the sake of this project refused to star in And Just Like That (a sequel to Sex and the City).
Eterna

Etana is the Russian answer to Game of Thrones. This is how the original series “Kinopoisk”, filmed at the “Lenfilm” studio, was dubbed by many media outlets. Why is that? Firstly, “Eterna” is based on the series of novels popular in Russia in the genre of historical fantasy “Reflections of Eterna”. Secondly, there are many familiar details in Eterna’s world: noble houses, the Guardians of the Dusk, who hold back the forces at the Line, wanting to destroy the world. Thirdly, the creators promised to transfer an elaborate world with all the details and subtleties. Will domestic filmmakers be able to approach the standard? The task is too heavy for foreign colleagues, but I want to believe that it will turn out at least not bad. The action takes place on the planet Cartiana, created by four creator gods. Descendants of ancient rulers and their vassals, mystics and clergymen wage a fierce struggle for power. Prince Aldo Racan lives in exile and dreams of regaining his throne. So far, he does not have money, an army and a plan, but he already has several invincible enemies and one loyal friend.
The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window

Judging by the title and promotional materials, this Netflix series is a kind of parody of modern thrillers such as Women in the Window, Girls on the Train and others. However, the trailer is made in some dark style, which creates the feeling that the series itself is a thriller (but this is still unlikely). The main role was played by Kristen Bell. In the story, Anna is going through hard times. Divorce, nerve problems and so on. She spends every evening exactly the same – she drinks wine, turns on the TV, but at the same time looks out the window at the empty house opposite. However, soon new residents come there and life becomes more interesting, because now you can watch them. True, it will be interesting until Anna witnesses the murder. But will it? After all, the police and the girl’s psychotherapist claim that nothing happened, and that there were only hallucinations.
«Афтепати» (The Afterparty)

Afterparty is an Apple TV + miniseries that follows a high school murder. Detectives will interrogate all the participants in the party and slowly compose a picture of what happened. However, the series will not be your usual convoluted detective story, but a project with a comedic bias. In each episode, new suspects will tell about the events at the party, and the genre and format will change depending on the nature of the narrator. Sounds interesting. Among the stars of the series are Dave Franco, Ben Schwartz, Tiffany Haddish and many others. The script and director of the project is Christopher Miller (Macho and the Nerd, Lego. Film).
