After intense negotiations between the government and the opposition, the plenary of the Federal Senate approved this Thursday (30), the new version of the Proposed Amendment to the Constitution (PEC) on Fuels, which provides for the recognition of the state of emergency in 2022 in the country and a package of R$ 41.25 billion in aid.

The first round was approved by 72 to 1, with the only opposing vote being that of Senator José Serra (PSDB-SP).

All highlights have been removed. Thus, the senators proceeded to vote in the 2nd round, approved by 67 to 1. The matter is now being analyzed by the Chamber of Deputies.

The PEC creates an aid of R$1,000 for truck drivers and an as-yet-undefined aid to taxi drivers, in addition to expanding Auxílio Brasil to at least R$600 per month and the gas voucher to around R$120 each two months. These measures will be valid until December 31 of this year, according to the text.

Victims report participation of other Caixa managers in harassment

Caixa employees reported to the CNN , on condition of anonymity, “collusion” and “participation” of other bank managers in episodes of sexual and moral harassment. They also claim that women who take the matter to higher levels end up retaliated. The case is being investigated by the Federal Public Ministry (MPF).

“It is the connivance and also the participation of other Caixa managers, who not only knew… The cases were brought to their attention, but also participated in some of these occasions, in the harassment”, said one victim.

Last Wednesday (29), executive Pedro Guimarães resigned from the presidency of Caixa after a report on the website “Metrópoles” revealed accusations of moral and sexual harassment. He had been at the bank since the beginning of the Jair Bolsonaro (PL) government.

This Friday (1st) deadline for Petrobras to respond to the STF on fuel readjustments ends

This Friday (1st) the deadline for Petrobras to respond to the request of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) for explanations on all fuel readjustments applied in the last 60 months ends.

The initial deadline ended last Friday (24), but the state-owned company asked for more days due to “the large volume of data to be analyzed to determine the information and documentation requested”.

Minister André Mendonça determined that copies of reports, minutes, audio or video recordings of the deliberations on changes in fuel prices should be delivered.

Reduction in ICMS on diesel goes into effect this Friday (1st) in RS

The change in the calculation of the Tax on Circulation of Goods and Services (ICMS) on diesel in Rio Grande do Sul begins to take effect this Friday (1st). In practice, the tax charged per liter of S-10 fuel should drop by R$ 0.11.

The change, announced by the state government this week, follows a definition by the National Council for Finance Policy (Confaz).

With the new rule, the reference prices for ICMS calculation, which were frozen since November 2021, are no longer valid. The average of the last five years until May 2022 is now considered. This moving average will be recalculated at every month.

Bus fare in São Paulo will not increase in 2022, says Ricardo Nunes

Municipal transport fares in São Paulo will not increase this year, according to Mayor Ricardo Nunes (MDB) said this Thursday (30).

He stated that ticket prices will not be corrected in 2022, despite the increase in fuel prices and salary readjustments for drivers and collectors by 12.47%.

According to Nunes, the city may pay R$ 4 billion in subsidies to guarantee the freezing of prices and not pass on the increase in costs to passengers.
