Pectra includes a series of improvements aimed at increasing the convenience and efficiency of Ethereum. Large -scale upgrade contains 11 key EIP. One of the important innovations is the addition of the functionality of smart contracts to the wallets, which simplifies their use and restoration.
The implementation of the hardforte in the tweeters of Sepolia (the level of consensus) and Holesky (level of execution) led to failures. In the first case, additional difficulties caused the intervention of the attacker.
In Holesky, even after restoring the network’s performance, it was impossible to check the functionality of the upgrade in terms of the release of the validators.
The developers decided to create a new long -term twist to complete the check of the hardforn. The test network called Hoodi was launched on March 17, the update in it was deployed in the same month.
According to the Ethereum team, the main functions introduced during the upgrade are active in the mainnet, including:
- wallets in the form of smart contracts;
- doubling the volume of data storage for the scaling of L2 networks;
- Improving the user interface for validators.
The developers will continue to monitor possible problems due to the activation of the hardforte over the next day.
As the co -founder of Parataxis Capital, Edward Chen, predicted, the large -scale upgrade did not “overshadow” the price of Ethereum. Councils over the past 24 hours have increased by 2.5% – Bitcoin added 3% for this period (Coingecko).
Recall that the next half-year (September-October) is planned the next Ethereum hard force called Fusaka. The developers have already excluded from the future updating the change in the Code of the EVM for the implementation of the Ethereum Object Format functionality.
One of the reasons for the refusal of the option was the proposal of Vitalik Buterin to transfer the Ethereum virtual machine to a new architecture.
