THE HBO released this Thursday (5) a new trailer for the series “Penguin ”, starring Colin Farrell (“The Lobster”) as the title character. The production premieres on the platform Max and on the cable channel in September 19th, from 10pm .
In a recent interview, Farrell described the series as dark and incredibly violent . “It’s a man’s journey towards the power and social status he’s always wanted,” he said. Despite the heavy tone, the actor confessed that he had a lot of fun during filming.
Set in Gotham City the Batman scenario and other DC productions the “Penguin” series follows Oz Cobb, played by Farrell. The story continues from the events of the character’s last film, “Batman”, focusing on Cobb’s rise within the mafia.
The first year of the series will have eight episodes.
Matt Reeves director of “Batman “, confirmed that the villain played by Farrell will also be present in the film’s sequel, “Batman 2 “, scheduled to premiere in 2026.
