Pentagon announces that he will include polygrars in leakage investigation

The United States Department of Defense (DOD) is investigating “recent unauthorized disclosures of national security information” and plans to use polygraphs as part of the investigation, according to a memorandum published on the department’s website on Friday (21).

“The use of polygraphs in the execution of this investigation will be in accordance with the law and the applicable policy,” wrote DOD’s chief of staff Joe Kasper, in the memorandum. “This investigation will begin immediately and culminate in a report to the Secretary of Defense,” he added.

The polygraph, also known as lies detector, is a device is used to measure physiological changes to evaluate the veracity of information provided by a person.

Kasper wrote that “information identifying a part responsible for unauthorized disclosure” would be referred to criminal proceedings.

The memorandum was released after President Donald Trump rejected a New York Times report that Doge’s chief Elon Musk would be informed about US military plans for potential war with China while on the Pentagon on Friday (21).

Trump commented that he would not show such plans “to anyone.”

Pentagon officials also vehemently rejected the report on social networks.

Musk met with the Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, for over an hour on Friday (21).

The Defense Department is the government’s newest arm to announce that it will use polygrade tests on employees.

Internal Security Secretary Kristi Noem spoke earlier this month that her department will continue to practice after reports that she ordered the inclusion of a question about the media in the test.

She reports that she still believes that there are people who leak data within the government and that they should “be held responsible.”

“We have identified two information leaks here in the internal security department that have told individuals about our operations and put police lives at risk. We plan to process these two individuals and blame them for what they did,” Noem said in an X video earlier this month.

The Justice Department announced on Friday (21) its own investigation into “the selective leak of inaccurate, but still classified information” related to the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua.

“We will not tolerate politically-motivated deep state efforts to undermine President Trump’s agenda by leaking false information on his allies in the New York Times,” said Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche in a statement on Friday (21).

“The proclamation of the law of foreign enemies is supported by facts, laws and common sense, which we will establish in court and then expel the Tren de Aragua terrorists of this country,” he added.
