PepsiCo announced on Tuesday (26) that it had net income of US$ 4.26 billion in the first quarter of 2022, a value 149% higher than the gain of US$ 1.71 billion obtained in the same period last year.
In the same comparison, earnings per share of the American beverage and food company rose from $1.24 to $3.06.
Adjusted, earnings per share were $1.29 between January and March, beating analysts polled by FactSet at $1.23.
The multinational’s revenue increased by more than 9% in the quarter, to US$ 16.2 billion, also above the FactSet consensus of US$ 15.5 billion.
In light of the positive results, PepsiCo raised its forecast for organic revenue growth this year from 6% to 8%.
By 7:20 am (GMT), PepsiCo’s share had a modest rise of 0.25% in premarket business in New York.
