Pernod Ricard: Expects strong sales growth for the year 2022

French beverage group Pernod Ricard says it expects strong sales growth for 2022 despite possible coronavirus disruptions, as strong demand in the US, China and Europe helped it surpass earnings and sales forecasts. of the first semester.

Pernod, which owns brands such as Martell brandy, Mumm champagne and Absolut, said the increase in sales would lead to an expansion of the operating margin, although this would be mitigated from the first half due to increased investment. .

Pernod, the second-largest beverage company, said profits from current operations in the six months to December 31 stood at 1.998 billion euros, an organic increase of 22%, which was higher than the 16.7% expected by analysts.

Sales amounted to 5.959 billion Euros in the first half, representing an organic increase of 17% compared to analysts’ estimates for an increase of 15.1%.
