We will remind, NASA announced the termination of communication with spacecraft exploring Mars at the end of September. The reason for this forced step is the so-called “conjunction” – the Earth and Mars are on opposite sides of the Sun, such an event occurs every two years.

Now Perseverance has returned to work and has been able to transmit impressive new photos from the Jezero crater to scientists on Earth. Perseverance’s official Twitter account says:

I went back to work, parked between these two beautiful outcrops. I took some pictures, studied the weather, did chemistry experiments, and also got a software update. ”

Since returning to work, Perseverance has taken quite a few more photos, you can find them on the NASA website.

The Perseverance rover landed in Jezero Crater on February 18, 2021.
