Person rescues BRL 328 thousand forgotten in financial institutions

One person redeemed R$ 328,000 through the Central Bank’s Receivables System. So far, the highest amount redeemed by a company was R$133,000.

On the first day of reopening the system alone, around 1.6 million people were assisted and requested BRL 62.1 million. That is, the average payment is just over R$ 38. However, according to BC, around 643 thousand people have more than R$ 1,000 to withdraw from “forgotten money”.

Until the end of the afternoon of Tuesday (7), there were more than 1 million redemption requests directly in the system, through Pix keys. Demand was so great that the Central Bank website was unstable. The queue reached 300,000 people and the wait lasted more than two hours.

BC clarified that resources will remain available to users for as long as necessary and that everyone will be served as quickly as possible, without the need to schedule a certain time, as happened in 2022. In all, 38 million individuals and 2 million of companies have around BRL 6 billion to redeem.

To make the appointment, it is necessary to inform the date of birth and the CPF. In the case of companies, it is necessary to fill in the date of creation of the company and the CNPJ.
