Personal wife who assaulted former homeless man speaks for the 1st time: “Deeply torn apart”

Sandra Mara Fernandes, a 33-year-old woman who, after a psychotic break, was found having sex with a former homeless person, took a stand for the first time this Wednesday (27) through a text on social networks, in who said she was “deeply torn apart by what happened”.

The case took place on March 9 in Planaltina, in the Federal District. Sandra’s husband found her with Givaldo Alves inside his wife’s car, and told the police that he thought Sandra was being raped by the man – which led to him beating him.

In a report obtained by the newspaper “O Globo”, the Hospital Universitário de Brasília concluded that Sandra was in a condition of bipolar affective disorder in a manic-psychotic phase. She has been admitted to a psychiatric clinic ever since. The police investigate the case.

After what happened, Givaldo Alves had an Instagram account created with more than 64 thousand followers. In the networks, Sandra Fernandes wrote that she was “the victim of mockery, humiliation on national television” and said that she had not chosen to have “an outbreak”.

“I always knew that we live in an unequal society, but I didn’t choose to have a breakdown, I didn’t choose to be humiliated, I didn’t choose to have my life exposed and devastated,” she says.

“Today I seek my rights in Justice, because I have never been disrespectful to anyone and I did not deserve to be treated like any other person, and, above all, to have been used as an object of pleasure during delusions and hallucinations that confused my mind and put me in a disgusting and sordid context”, he added.

Sandra thanked her husband for knowing that “under normal conditions I would never have allowed myself to go through that”, as well as mentioning health professionals with whom she has had contact since the event.

In a video recorded on Instagram stories, Sandra also said that she will “fight for the rights of women, even though some have not defended me”. “All of us women deserve respect.”

“This wound that exists in me will heal, little by little,” he added.
