Peru's President Dina Bolivarte Testifies to Prosecutors About 'Rolexgate' Scandal

Peru's President Dina Boluarte began testifying in court today as part of the investigation against her for “illegal enrichment,” a case related to luxury watches and jewelry found in her possession. The Attorney General Juan Carlos Vijena “began to collect the statements of the President of the Republic” announced the Ministry of Justice in a post on the X platform. Boluarte, according to APE-MPE, arrived at the Central Prosecutor's Office of Lima with her lawyer, Mateo Castañeda, with an official car accompanied by five patrol cars. Prosecutors had asked her to take with her the valuables she had not included in her asset declaration when she took office in December 2022.
