Peruvians who stole cell phones in public transport are arrested in the DF

The Federal District Civil Police (PCDF) arrested, on Monday (17), two men, 27 and 37, and a 35-year-old woman, all Peruvians, pointed out as members of a theft criminal association under Operation Las Porky’s.

The group acted in public transport, by bus and subway, and used the distraction tactic, bumping into the victim while stealing cell phones agile and discreetly. To hinder identification, the trio was constantly changing state and country.

The name of the operation came from the criminal organization itself. This is because investigations pointed out that the suspects have a vast history of public transportation practices in Peru, between 2021 and 2023, and reports in the country point out involvement with the criminal association “La Porky’s by Villa El Salvador”.

In Brazil, there are records of crimes in Rio de Janeiro, where theft occurrences led to an arrest warrant issued against the group on December 12, 2024, and in São Paulo, the woman was sentenced and had the expulsion of the decreed national territory. The couple would have two small children, as indicated by a report in Rio, and the PCDF points out that the conduct shows a standard of neglect and unlawfulness by the suspects.

During the arrest, more than 10 stolen cell phones were found, which is why they were charged in the act. Those involved can be responsible for criminal association and theft, which can result in 10 years of imprisonment.
