Contacts between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Joe Biden are likely to take place before the New Year, but may take place later, Russian President Dmitry Peshkov’s spokesman said on Russian state television.
“At the moment there is no clear idea of when the contacts (Putin and Biden) will take place. We have to wait. Is it possible to do it before the New Year? Yes, it is possible. But maybe later. It will depend on “How well the two presidents’ work schedules will coincide and what specific form of (communication) they will choose,” the Kremlin spokesman said.
Earlier, Peshkov, referring to a telephone conversation between Russian and US security chiefs Nikolai Patrushev and Jake Sullivan on Wednesday, said he was part of preparations for the forthcoming talks between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden. Putin-Biden contacts do not exist at the moment, but “everything is possible”.
