Allegations of bombing of children’s hospital in Mariupol “Information terrorism”
At the same time, Russia announced that Ukraine’s claims that Russian forces bombed a children’s hospital in Mariupol are false and tantamount to “information terrorism”.
“This is information terrorism,” said Maria Zakharova, a spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, according to Reuters and the Athens-based News Agency.
Earlier, Russia’s ambassador to the United Nations, Dmitry Poliansky, called Ukraine’s allegations “fake news” and said it was a former maternity hospital that had long been occupied by the military.
“This is how false news is created,” Dmitry Poliansky, Russia’s first deputy permanent representative to the United Nations, said on his Twitter account.
Polianski pointed out that Russia had warned on March 7 that the hospital had been turned into a military post from which Ukrainians were firing.
THE Volodymyr Zelensky accused Moscow of carrying out genocide after Ukrainian officials complained that a Russian warplane bombed a children’s hospital in Mariupol yesterday, Wednesday.
Mariupol. Direct strike of Russian troops at the maternity hospital. People, children are under the wreckage. Atrocity! How much longer will the world be an accomplice ignoring terror? Close the sky right now! Stop the killings! You have power but you seem to be losing humanity. pic.twitter.com/FoaNdbKH5k

The Kremlin also said it would seek information from the Russian military on the bombing of the children’s hospital. “We will have to ask for information from our army, because we, like you, do not have clear information about what happened and (…) the military will give us information,” Peskov said.
