Peter Thiel: “I haven’t invested enough in bitcoin”

After bitcoin hit its all-time high, almost hitting $ 67,000, co-founder and former PayPal CEO Peter Thiel said he should have bought more bitcoins.

According to the message
BloombergPeter Thiel spoke about cryptocurrencies during an interview in Miami hosted by the think tank Lincoln Network.

“You should just buy bitcoin,” he joked, addressing the audience, adding, “I feel like I haven’t invested enough in it.”

Thiel noted that his only concern with the BTC purchase was that “the secret of this cryptocurrency was already known to everyone.” According to him, the latest rally in bitcoin is a matter of concern for central banks in different countries. He believes that such a rapid growth of cryptocurrencies could lead to bankruptcy of central banks.

In addition, during an interview, he expressed concerns about the development of artificial intelligence. Thiel would like the people who are developing this technology to reflect, because it can be dangerous to the world. Thiel is a supporter of decentralization, and believes that this form of surveillance “can be considered communist.”

In April this year, during a virtual conference, the billionaire emphasized that most of the miners of the first cryptocurrency are located in China. And in the event of a further aggravation of relations between the two largest economies in the world, bitcoin can be used to counter the US dollar. But now, after the departure of miners from China, the United States has become a leader in mining. Therefore, one can rather fear complete American dominance in the cryptocurrency industry.
