THE Petrobras announced this Thursday (28) a reduction in the prices of kerosene from aviation (QAV) and aviation gasoline (GAV). Fuels will have cuts of, respectively, 2.6% and 5.7%.
According to the state-owned company, the adjustments occur monthly, being defined by a contractual formula negotiated with the distributors, in a practice carried out in the last 20 years.
The company also announced a 4.5% cut in the value of asphalt for distributors that will take effect from August 1st.
“It is important to note that the Brazilian market is open to free competition, and there are no legal, regulatory or logistical restrictions for other companies to act as producers or importers of QAV, asphalt and GAV,” the company said.
The reduction was announced on the same day that Petrobras lowered the price of gasoline for distributors at R$ 0.15 per liter. O diesel has not been readjusted.
The average cost of airline tickets in Brazil in 2022 is R$ 605.04, the highest value in 12 years, according to a survey by the CNN from data from the National Civil Aviation Agency (anac) .
The increase is explained by the growth in demand for flights, which has been approaching the pre-pandemic period, and the rise in aviation kerosene prices.
Accumulated from January to July, fuel has already increased by 70.6%, according to estimates by the Brazilian Association of Airlines (Abear), without considering this Thursday’s readjustment. Anac estimates that the product accounts for around 36% of all airline costs in Brazil.
The figures corroborate an estimate by the National Confederation of Commerce in Goods, Services and Tourism (CNC), made at the request of the CNN at the end of June.
At the time, the entity indicated that the price of tickets would continue to increase in the coming months, due to the market situation.
The value was only surpassed by the average tariff for 2009, when the average cost, corrected by the IPCA was BRL 682.76.
