Petrobras boards will oversee the board’s execution of the pricing policy

THE Petrobras informed this Wednesday (27) that a guideline for price formation in the domestic market was approved.

The Internal Market Pricing Directive incorporates an “additional layer of supervision” of the execution of fuel pricing policies by the board of directors and fiscal councils.

Despite the supervision by the boards, Petrobras reiterated in a statement the decision made on the price policy by the executive board, and said that the company will continue to seek to make a profit.

“The Guideline reiterates the Executive Board’s competence in the execution of pricing policies, preserving and prioritizing the Company’s economic results, seeking to maximize its generation of value,” the company said in a statement.

The information was anticipated by the economy analyst at CNN Thaís Herédia, who informed the possible changes in Petrobras’ pricing policies, reinforcing the competence of the executive board in decision-making.

to CNN an executive involved in the management of Petrobras stated that “anything [que seja discutida] on the PPI is to strengthen, not weaken” the fuel price adjustment mechanism.

According to the state-owned company, the approved rule does not change the current pricing policies in the domestic market, in line with international prices, nor the Company’s Bylaws.
