Petrobras closes the sale process of the Araucária fertilizer factory, in PR

Petrobras approved the closure of a competitive process for the sale of all of its shares in the Araucária Nitrogenados (Ansa) fertilizer unit, located in Paraná, according to a statement released on Monday night.

The process was at the binding stage. From then on, the company said it will evaluate its next steps related to the divestment of the asset.

A report published by Valor Econômico newspaper on Monday indicated that Norwegian company Yara had given up on buying the Petrobras factory, a deal that came close to being closed this year for around US$ 50 million.

Questioned by Reuters, the oil company did not respond to the possible withdrawal of the buyer and Yara said it does not comment on market rumors.

According to Petrobras, Ansa is an industrial unit of nitrogen fertilizers in Araucária (PR), which is currently hibernated, with a production capacity of 1,975 tons per day of urea and 1,303 tons per day of ammonia.
