The president of Petrobras, Caio Mario Paes de Andrade, was diagnosed with cancer and has already started treatment. Company officials were informed on Thursday (15) about the president’s staff.
The statement obtained by CNN states that Caio Paes de Andrade is starting a treatment to “fight a head and neck carcinoma called epidermide”.
Also according to the note released internally, the disease is relatively common and has high cure rates. In this way, Caio Paes will not withdraw from his activities and will continue to work.
“Treatment involves chemotherapy for 12 weeks, in 4 cycles every 3 weeks, followed by 7 weeks of consolidation radiotherapy.”
Caio Mario Paes de Andrade is 48 years old and took over as president of Petrobras in June this year. Before, he was part of the Special Secretariat for Debureaucratization, Management and Digital Government of the Ministry of Economy.
In a note to CNN, Petrobras confirmed that the president is starting a health treatment. “The fact has already been communicated to Petrobras employees. Caio continues to work and dispatch normally”, he adds.
