The new Minister of Mines and Energy, Adolfo Sachsida, said this Wednesday (11) that his first act as the new commander of the portfolio will be a request to the Minister of Economy Paulo Guedes to start studies for the feasibility of the legislative changes necessary for the privatization of Petrobras.
Sachsida also mentioned the inclusion of PPSA (Pré-Sal Petróleo SA) in the National Development Plan (PND). “May it lead the National Privatization Council to include Pre-Salt Oil in the PND,” he said in his first speech as Minister of Mines and Energy.
President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) changed the command of the Ministry of Mines and Energy this Wednesday. In a decree published in the Official Gazette (DOU), Bento Albuquerque was dismissed, upon request, and Adolfo Sachsida was appointed to the position.
Sachsida included among its priorities the continuation of the Eletrobras capitalization process. “It is essential that we launch the capitalization process, an important signal to attract more capital to Brazil and show the world that the country is a safe haven for investment”.
Sachsida also said that, during his administration, he will focus on “structural measures”, as a way of attracting investment to the country.
“We have to insist on the economy on the supply side. We need to improve the legal frameworks and bring more legal certainty to private investment, increasing the productivity of our economy and, with that, expanding the aggregate supply, employment and income of Brazilians,” he said.
The command of the ministry was changed this Thursday (11) by President Jair Bolsonaro (PL). Sachsida served as the head of the Special Advisory for Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Economy. He was also Secretary of Economic Policy between January 2019 and February 2022 in the portfolio commanded by Paulo Guedes.
Sachsida enters the post replacing Bento Albuquerque and assumes the position from now on, following publication of the Official Gazette of the Union.
