Petrobras reduces by 4.8% the value of a liter of gasoline sold to distributors

Petrobras announced this Monday (15) a reduction in the value of a liter of gasoline sold to distributors from R$3.71 to R$3.53, a drop of R$0.18 per liter (or 4.85% ).

This Monday’s reduction is the third announced by the company in less than a month. The new value goes into effect on Tuesday (16).

With this, Petrobras’ share of the consumer price goes from R$ 2.70, on average, to R$ 2.57 for each liter sold at the pump, says the company, considering the mandatory mixture of 73% of gasoline A and 27% anhydrous ethanol for the composition of gasoline sold at gas stations.

“This reduction follows the evolution of reference prices and is consistent with Petrobras’ pricing practice, which seeks to balance its prices with the global market, but without passing on to domestic prices the conjunctural volatility of international quotations and the international rate. exchange rate”, says the oil company in a note.

Last week, Petrobras also announced another drop in the price of diesel sold to distributors. The value went from R$ 5.41 to R$ 5.19 per liter, a reduction of R$ 0.22 per liter or a drop of 4%.

The announcement came a week after the state-owned company cut by R$0.20 (or 3.5%) the price of a liter of fuel.
