The Federal Police launched an operation on Friday (23) to dismantle a criminal organization that sent cocaine to Europe through Brazilian airports.
The PF fulfilled search and seizure warrants in the cities of Palhoça, Tubarão and Biguaçu, in Santa Catarina. Four people have been arrested so far.
The investigations began in April, with two arrests in the act that occurred at Salgado Filho Airport, in Porto Alegre. At the time, according to the Federal Police, the prisoners were trying to board drugs on a flight to Lisbon, Portugal.
From there, the PF identified a structured co -optation scheme of “mules”, division of tasks, logistics and operational financing of the criminal organization.
The investigated group would also be involved in several cases of arrests in the act that occurred at Florianópolis International Airport in Santa Catarina. In addition, the PF identified the existence of a group’s logistics branching in Europe, which was diffusion of cocaine by several other countries.
Investigations continue to identify other members of the scheme. The PF should also analyze the seized material.
